Essay about World War 1 Causes and Effects Example For Students

Paper about World War 1 Causes and Effects Obviously, one of the most genuine clashes that happened during the previous century is unquestionably World War I. The majority of European nations were engaged with the contention. To comprehend the history and hugeness of World War I, this factious exposition will follow its more profound circumstances and end results. Outline1 Militarism2 Imperialism3 Alliances4 Effects of WW1 Militarism The main genuine purpose that prompted the start of the Great War was militarism. Generally, the thought of militarism can be characterized as a countries capacity to take an interest in a war. Not long before the War, most nations from Europe began to upgrade their military potential to have the option to protect themselves in the period of scarcity. For instance, history tells that Germany and France turned into the contenders and did everything conceivable to improve their powers to get better than others. As may be normal, it came about later in the nations association in the Great War that began in 1914. It likewise should be referenced that militarism was significantly evolved in Great Britain as the nation had the biggest naval force among different countries.  Therefore, it becomes clear that Great Britain was on backup, and could be prepared if necessary to start the war in a brief timeframe. Henceforth, Germany accepted that British military powers are a critical danger to harmony everywhere throughout the world. Thus, Germany was extremely terrified of Great Britain and felt shaky about the condition of its naval force. Along these lines, in light of the potential danger, Germany introduced its ship and did everything conceivable to confine the intensity of Great Britain. By and large, there are no questions that the military rivalries that existed between the European nations, including Germany, France, Italy, and Great Britain, urged the countries to enter the Great War. Dominion Another reason for the Great War became government that occurred during the 1800s. The students of history Fitzgerald, Pickard, and Stewart accept that the most obvious instances of the way that dominion has an immediate association with War I are Two Moroccan Crises. In spite of the fact that Morocco was a French province, Germany needed to make it liberated from France. The primary purpose behind that will be that Germany was looking for new collusions and had an arrangement to increase Moroccan help. Without a doubt, France didn't care for the German mediations, and, therefore, there happened the contention between these two countries. Moreover, there were actualized various colonialist battles against the African zones that incredibly added to the start of the Great War as they strengthened rivalries between the European nations. As Fitzgerald, Pickard, and Stewart state, for a long time the world chiefs were battling for the most part for acquiring extra land and assets to becom e world superpowers. Coalitions One increasingly genuine purpose that is accepted to contribute extraordinarily to the start of the Great War was the partnership framework. Truth be told, this reason is the drawn out idea that existed in the most recent years before the War.  First of all, it added to tense connections between the countries members. At the point when the war occurred, European nations were isolated into two partnerships frameworks, and the nations of every union were prepared to give assistance to each other in the period of scarcity. The occasion that developed into the encounter between the nations of the collusions was the contention between Austria-Hungary and Serbia. In addition, it ought to be referenced that on account of the ascent of Panslavism development that was profoundly bolstered by Russian Empire and advanced that all countries communicating in Slavic dialects ought to be a solitary country the started by the Russian Empire, the Serbians felt the risk and needed their autonomy. Th us, the connection between the countries in the Balkans turned out to be particularly tense, and numerous nations have a negative connection to Russia. Consequently, there are no questions that the partnership frameworks that occurred before World War I expected nations to begin the war so as to secure their partners. Furthermore, the collusion frameworks make such nations as France, Germany, Great Britain, Russia, and Italy associated with the Great War, truly getting the snare. .u32f4385fd8415f5a75dfc77378ed8082 , .u32f4385fd8415f5a75dfc77378ed8082 .postImageUrl , .u32f4385fd8415f5a75dfc77378ed8082 .focused content zone { min-tallness: 80px; position: relative; } .u32f4385fd8415f5a75dfc77378ed8082 , .u32f4385fd8415f5a75dfc77378ed8082:hover , .u32f4385fd8415f5a75dfc77378ed8082:visited , .u32f4385fd8415f5a75dfc77378ed8082:active { border:0!important; } .u32f4385fd8415f5a75dfc77378ed8082 .clearfix:after { content: ; show: table; clear: both; } .u32f4385fd8415f5a75dfc77378ed8082 { show: square; change: foundation shading 250ms; webkit-progress: foundation shading 250ms; width: 100%; darkness: 1; change: murkiness 250ms; webkit-change: haziness 250ms; foundation shading: #95A5A6; } .u32f4385fd8415f5a75dfc77378ed8082:active , .u32f4385fd8415f5a75dfc77378ed8082:hover { mistiness: 1; change: obscurity 250ms; webkit-change: obscurity 250ms; foundation shading: #2C3E50; } .u32f4385fd8415f5a75dfc77378ed8082 .focused content region { width: 100%; position: relative; } .u32f4385fd8415f5a75dfc77378ed8082 .ctaText { outskirt base: 0 strong #fff; shading: #2980B9; text dimension: 16px; textual style weight: intense; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; content enhancement: underline; } .u32f4385fd8415f5a75dfc77378ed8082 .postTitle { shading: #FFFFFF; text dimension: 16px; textual style weight: 600; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; width: 100%; } .u32f4385fd8415f5a75dfc77378ed8082 .ctaButton { foundation shading: #7F8C8D!important; shading: #2980B9; fringe: none; outskirt range: 3px; box-shadow: none; text dimension: 14px; text style weight: striking; line-stature: 26px; moz-outskirt span: 3px; content adjust: focus; content adornment: none; content shadow: none; width: 80px; min-tallness: 80px; foundation: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/modules/intelly-related-posts/resources/pictures/basic arrow.png)no-rehash; position: supreme; right: 0; top: 0; } .u32f4385fd8415f5a75dfc77378ed8082:hover .ctaButton { foundation shading: #34495E!important; } .u32f4385fd8415f5a75 dfc77378ed8082 .focused content { show: table; tallness: 80px; cushioning left: 18px; top: 0; } .u32f4385fd8415f5a75dfc77378ed8082-content { show: table-cell; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; cushioning right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-adjust: center; width: 100%; } .u32f4385fd8415f5a75dfc77378ed8082:after { content: ; show: square; clear: both; } READ: peer pressure EssayEffects of WW1 To start with, the War brought about the significant moves in the political, social, and innovative circles of life. The Struggle of the Educational System Essays -- Public Education Scho

The Struggle of the Educational System It appears as though the American government has attempted to assess the current instructive framework so as to decide whether critical social issues, including expanding territorial destitution, and declining proficiency rates in explicit urban locales are identified with financial separations in the training framework. There should be more accentuation put on deciding a framework that gives more noteworthy value between distraught downtown schools and wealthier rural, white collar class schools. The hole between the nation’s best and most noticeably awful government funded schools keeps on developing. Our nation depends on opportunity and correspondence for all, yet by and by and in the range of instruction this is once in a while the case. Numerous conspicuous pain signals found in the present American urban schools incorporate the inexorably over-burden and under-supported schools, disarray over genuine objectives and purposes, and an inclination toward a partition into tw o inconsistent class divisions inside the government funded schools. Our country has unfortunately become a general public where numerous individuals are concerned uniquely for themselves with little worry for the individuals who are less lucky. One of the most huge issues brought up in government funded instruction as of late is the extreme distinction that exists in subsidizing levels among riches and poor school areas. â€Å"Many states have assigned instructive financing identified with charge incomes, and this has decided a more significant level of instructive spending in well off neighborhoods and a much lower level of spending for downtown poor and country poor communities† (Frady 15). Various states have thought of and actualized plans for the evening out of school subsidizing, however this has not come without impressive restriction. In spite of the fact that people in low-salary neighborhoods regions have characterized this evening out as a constructive procedure for improving urban schools, wealthier rural populaces have griped that this will remove financing important to keep up programs that are as of now set up. â€Å"The essential recipe for instructive spending today is controlled by a program called the establishment program (Kozol 238). The way that the program works is a nearby assessment dependent on the estimation of homes and organizations inside a given region raises the underlying assets for schools. At that point to repay less fortunate areas, the state gives adequate assets to lift the less fortunate regions to an estimat... ...eets. The absence of equivalent quality training is delivering a generational pattern of destitution in the nation that is throwing a bleak weight on our schools and society for what's to come. Numerous people remain in destitution since they don't know there is a decision and have nobody to show them how to conquer it and become effective. Schools are the main spot where understudies can gain proficiency with the decisions of other social classes. The odds of them beating the overwhelming snags that anticipate them without the abilities the need are exceptionally thin. Their odds of being financially fruitful in today’s serious society is little. The individuals who have had a progressively broad and favorable instructive experience will persistently eclipse them. â€Å"The offspring of neediness and the individuals who are results of downtown schools will undoubtedly remain detainees of a broad heritage of monetary and social exile† (Gross 185). The disregard for the instru ctive needs of the kids in urban schools undermines the monetary prosperity of the country. Except if the imbalances in training among rural and urban schools are reduced, the schools and their understudies will consistently be survivors of the divisions of race and class.

Why I applied Early Action COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY - SIPA Admissions Blog

Why I applied Early Action COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY - SIPA Admissions Blog Photo credit I applied Early Action to SIPA, where decisions are non-binding, in November 2017 to start in Fall 2018. I applied early because, quite simply, I wanted an early decision. More than that, I applied early action because my graduate school journey started way back in 2016. I started thinking about going to grad school in early 2016, and it took me a while to decide this is what I really wanted. Applying Early Action was the best decision for me because It gave me a deadline and SIPAs Early Action deadline is in early November (for Fall 2020, it is November 1, 2019!), which was the earliest of all the schools I applied to. I used this deadline as an  early EARLY action  in my planning and figured if I worked towards SIPAs deadline, I would be prepared for all other schools deadlines. It was helpful for me because I worked backwards from the deadline to fulfill the  application checklist. The checklist is also quite similar for the other schools I applied to, with the difference being the essays. This helped me gather everything I needed pretty early on, which was a huge burden off because youre working through that checklist. Working on the essays for SIPAs deadline also helped me articulate clearly why I wanted to go back to school and what I hoped to accomplish. This made it a lot easier to write the other essays too. I heard back super early Applying early action means you get a non-binding early decision! I heard back from SIPA right after Christmas, which was a nice way to usher in the New Year. The admission e-letter plays Frank Sinatras New York, New York (turn that volume up!) and has falling confetti. It was basically just perfect. (That added touch made me so happy like you cant even imagine.) (Sad story but the SIPA decision email actually went to my spam so I actually saw it two days after it was sent, but that doesnt matter. So worth it.) And it adds to the holiday festivity. Given that you hear back around 8 weeks after you apply, and because its around the holiday season, I was definitely preoccupied so I didnt have any anxiety or stress while waiting to hear back. So apply early action because no stress, no mess! Which means I could plan the next 8 months Hearing back by the New Year also gave me time to plan the next 8 months leading up to SIPA. It gave me space to plan time for family, holidays, boring admin like banks and visas, and more crucially, when to leave my job. I didnt feel stressed that I had a hundred things to do before moving, and I had time to troubleshoot problems. SIPA requires that you provide official documents once you are accepted. While some institutions have this all figured out and you only need to click a button, others have a more complicated process that requires many emails, calls and mailing paper transcripts (and things can get lost in the mail trust me on this), for you to complete this and get the verified documents check. Lastly, I  received a conditional offer for SIPA, which meant that I needed to spend some time improving on my quantitative skills (read: I had to take economics classes). Again, the 8 months gave me time to plan ahead on how to meet this requirement. But conversely, if I had not b een accepted, I would have had time to apply to other/more schools, reapply or figure out an alternative. And gave me a sense of security.   Once I heard back from SIPA, I felt relieved. I felt strangely secure that at least someone wanted me. This gave me the confidence to apply to my remaining schools because maybe they would want me to? Probably not but maybe. This security also meant that yes, I was going to graduate school and got me very excited! Was Early Action the right choice? Applying to grad school made me very nervous, anxious and scared because I felt all my hopes and dreams were on the line. Applying Early Action was  absolutely  the best decision for me. I felt hugely relieved once I applied because it was out of my control by then. Because Im a planner and I liked having the extra time to figure out a game plan, the early decision helped. That said, there are people who applied at the very last minute, so I think it boils down to personality and your comfort with uncertainty. So, what you are waiting for? Apply Early Action! The Fall 2020 Early Action Deadline is November 1, 2019.

Normative and Non-Normative Sexual Expression - 1100 Words

Origins and Concepts of Normative and Non-Normative Sexual Expression (Term Paper Sample) Content: Students NameProfessors NameCourseDateOrigins and Concepts of Normative and Non-Normative Sexual ExpressionSexuality is one of the most intimate and sacred features of human beings. Matters concerning sexuality is guarded and held closely secretive to the point where even partners do not disclose all their sexual secrets (Jackson 106). They do not share all their sexual experiences, dreams and desires together and surprisingly; this happens even in the long term relationships. It is surprising that people at times fail to admit their sexual longing or certain sexual arousal and demands due to the sacredness that involves it. It is deemed inappropriate and strange. Jackson (107) adds that the changes occurring in public discourse, education, technology and improved information systems have, however, changed how people express themselves sexually. In the past, women found it hard to express their sexual feelings, and they could not acknowledge that sex is what they nee ded. A society of different sexual orientations has also emerged. The purpose of this paper is, therefore, to discuss the origins and the concepts of normative and non-normative sexual expressions such as socialization, media, the laws and human sexual anatomy.People learn from their societies how to express their sexuality. Sexual expression, as such, is part of the socialization process allows people learn and acquire normative sexual expressions. Brown, (3) explains that it is a life-long process of dissemination and inheritance of ideologies, customs, and norms providing one with habits and skills vital for participation in the society. Socialization, therefore, is the origin of both normative and non-normative sexual expression expressions. It is the process where the inculcation and disseminated of norms, customs, and behavior deemed by the community as valued or as deviant. The normative expressions refer to the valued expressions while the non-normative sexual expressions ar e the deviant sexual expressions and behaviors. In most parts of the world such as the United States, heteronormativity is practiced, and heterosexual expressions are considered normal, and homosexuality (non-normative) as deviant and abnormal (Brown 4). There is an enormous variation in the expression of sexuality across historical times and cultures. Parrenas (26), says that the migration of people from one country to the other has created a society with various beliefs and cultures establishing a society without universal sexual norms. It, therefore, means that a person acquires sexual norms through their specific culture and historical beliefs through socialization. In the contemporary society, especially in the western societies, evaluation of sexuality is based on the heterosexuality continuum and homosexuality where heterosexuality is privileged as a form of sexual expression. In the ancient Greece for instance, sexuality was only heterosexual, and the basis of distinction on was based on if the subjects were active or passive. In the modern society, normative sexual expressions are learned since childhood as children play role games. They are socialized as men and women and learn how to express their sexuality (Jackson 114). On the other hand, homosexuality is based on the concept of lesbianism and gay practices. Lesbianism is where women seek sexual satisfaction from other women while men seek the same from other men. It is believed to have originated from the freedom of sexual expression and liberation of both men and women. For instance, the removal of women clitoridectomy practices by the law promoted lesbianism. Kolmar Bartkowski (188) asserts that it is made possible by clitoral orgasm where women believe that women would understand how to stimulate them sexually than men. It, therefore, leaves men with no option than to seek sexual satisfaction from other men. This has threatened heterosexuality as it has become an option and not a compulsory fo rm of sexual satisfaction.Other origins of normative and non-normative sexual expression are the media and the laws. The laws provide norms and codes of conduct among the people. The interaction of the homosexuality and sexual acts with its illegality and legality have provided an opportunity for the normative and non-normative sexual expressions to thrive (Jackson 119). The legalizing laws promote and protect homosexuality. Media, on the other, breeds the homosexual and heterosexual practices among the people. It is the channel of normative sexual discourses where people replicate the sexual expressions they see in movies and other programs (Brown 1). However, the media also supports homosexuality since, through its programs, lesbianism and gay practices are portrayed and praised. Pornography, through media, also acts as a way where people learn normative and non-normative sexual expressions (Jackson 120-21). People learn heterosexual and homosexual practices by watching pornograph y depending on the type one prefers.Another concept that clearly explains the origin and concept of normative and non-normative sexual behavior is conventional sex and the peoples role in it. Men, for instance, attain orgasm through the friction between the penis and the vaginal walls which vividly supports heterosexuality. However, the problem comes with the fact that womans orgasm takes place through the stimulation of the clit...

Graduation Speech A Special Education Classroom - 955 Words

I was welcomed to Southeast Elementary by Mrs. Becca ElsaMiller. The environment as you walked into her special education classroom felt very open. As soon as I walked in I could tell that the students felt accepted in this classroom. I enjoyed the way that the adults were referred to by their first names. I was referred to as Ms. Caroline and that made me feel like I wasn’t as far off from the students. I saw a lot of trust and good connections among Mrs. ElsaMiller and her students. I spent two days in Mrs. ElsaMiller’s special education classroom. In these two days I got a lot of hands on experience with students that have disabilities. The students that I worked with most had programs to help their reading and English skills. I observed Mrs. ElsaMiller working with students and I also interacted with students. When I interacted with students I facilitated reading sessions and listened to students read out loud. On the second day I watched Mrs. ElsaMiller enter data for each student and discussed with her how she thought the progress was going for each student. I found it very interesting to see how some of her students increased at a very steep rate but some of her students stayed in the same spot throughout the whole year. It was interesting to listen to Mrs. ElsaMiller talk about how she thought one student might have a tracking problem and that is why her reading score is not increasing. Media Influence on the Younger Generation - 1778 Words

Nahtonya Thompson Professor Tolbora English 102 16 July 2012 Media Influence on the Younger Generation It seems like just last week when I bought my son a new video game, Call of Duty 3 was the name of it. This game is supposed to be the best game in town. It was not until recently did I notice that every time I call my son his reaction time if he answers or reacts at all, is slow. Overcoming this fear, he matured into a relaxed, easy-going fellow, a good conversationalist, and a keen observer of human nature. He genuinely loved people and was interested in their thoughts and problems. When travelling by train, he invariably sat in the smoking car, eager to strike up a conversation. He had a remarkable memory for the names and faces of the most casual acquaintances. As a politician he respected the opposition and welcomed constructive criticism. He was not racist towards blacks Significant events: Munn v. Illinois, 94 U. S. 113 (1876)[1], was a United States Supreme Court case dealing with corporate rates and agriculture. The Munn v. Illinois case allowed states to regulate certain businesses within their borders, including railroads. The Great Railroad Strike of 1877 began on July 14 in Martinsburg, West Virginia, United States and ended some 45 days later after it was put down by local and state militias, as well as by federal troops. Hayes essentially sold out his ideals to the former Confederacy in order to gain the Presidency. He allowed the former Confederate states to return to governing themselves almost the same exact way they had been doing prior to the Civil War. This essentially set the Civil Rights movement back for almost a century, as many â€Å"Jim Crow† Laws were passed to ensure that blacks and other minorities could not rise to the same equality as whites, laws which were enforced in the Supreme Court case of Plessy v. Question: Discuss about the STP Marketing and the Evolution of Marketing Strategy. Answer: Target Audience Target market is the market segment which is the focus of the companys marketing strategies. The brand is presented and marketed in manner so as to influence the minds of consumers using positioning strategy. This process of selecting a small group from a broader consumer base is called as segmentation, targeting and positioning (STP). The process involves break-up of the broader market into smaller segments to identify the homogenous segment which can be targeted using the positioning strategy (Lamb, Hair and McDaniel, 2008). Market Segmentation The market can be segmented based on geography, psychographics and lifestyle, benefits, commitment levels and usage patterns and demographics (Egan, 2007). Usage and Commitment Segmentation Customers belonging to this category are heavy users or nonusers of the brand, loyal customers or potential customers (Egan, 2007). Awareness among this segment could be created about the less advantaged children to persuade them for donation. Since this segment has very high levels of commitment and once they start donating their laptop, clothes, phone and other accessories to the less advantaged people, they would be more prompt in their involvement for the second time. The customers could be made aware about the impact their donation is going to make on the life of a student. For instance, their old laptop which they do not want to use could be donated to a less advantaged child who would be actually using the laptop for studies. Demographics Segmentation This segment divides the consumer on the basis of their age, gender, marital status, race, education, income or occupation (Egan, 2007). In this scenario, fellow students could be segmented on the basis of their gender and male and female segments could be targeted separately. Geographic Segmentation This segmentation process divides the consumers on the basis of country, state, region, city or neighborhood (Egan, 2007). Students of different university could be targeted with a different approach depending upon their neighborhood and state. Psychographics and Lifestyle Segmentation This segment considers the opinions, interest and activities of the consumers to understand their lifestyle (Egan, 2007). There are students who like to collect cell phones and have number of phones which are of no use to them. Target Audience Profile The target audience is the students of university who could donate their laptop, books, clothes, cell phones and other stuff which are of no use for them. For instance geek students are those who are fond of books and thus, have lots of books stored at their place. They could be persuaded that their old books could help less advantaged children. The students belong to decent family backgrounds and therefore, donating their extra stuff such as old laptops, old books, old clothes, old cell phones which they find difficult to store at their places and planning to dispose, would greatly support the UWS students. The UWS students do not have the means to access this kind of stuff and therefore, would be grateful to these students. Less advantaged UWS Students The average students at UWS do not have the means to access the stuff such as laptops, ipods, branded clothes, handsets and other useful stuff. They are the less advantaged people and need the support of upper class students in order to lead a decent life. They have a lower socio-economic status and have to go through many hardships in order to achieve a decent life. Key Motivators For Donation There could be number of key motivations behind the act of donation. (Source: Inclusion BC, 2017). Self Actualization These students could be motivated because for some people an act of donation leads to self actualization. They feel better when they help less advantaged people. It increases their self esteem and they are able to lead a dignified life. They take great pride in activities such as volunteering, donation and other acts of social works. (Source: Flipsy, 2017). Tax Deduction Tax deduction is another motivation for some students who look for ways to save their taxes from the government. The students could be educated about the benefits of donation that it would help them in their tax deduction. (Source: Wilson, 2016). Same Experience There are students who have gone through the same experience of hardship and have struggled through great difficulties to lead a decent lifestyle. This kind of category is more likely to understand the circumstances of these students and thus, this could be a key motivator for them. (Source: CanStockPhoto, 2017). Community Engagement Projects Further, there are people who look forward to connect themselves with some social group and this could be an opportunity for them. References CanStockPhoto. (2017). Symbolism in All Quiet on the Western Front free essay sample

In the book All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque, there are many symbols. However the main symbol that ties everything together is the boots. The boots are a symbol for loss of identity, dehumanization, and cheapness of human life. During World War I, men were put in boot camp straight from high school. They never have a chance to grow up and develop lives of their own. Although they have lost their innocence due to hardships of the war, they are still young boys at heart. This shows how their boots are a symbol for dehumanization. As soon as they put on their boots, they become tough, experienced, soldiers that know nothing but methods of survival and how to follow orders. The army breeds men to be like machines and putting on their boots is like their instinctive queue to follow orders. This also shows how their boots are a symbol for loss of identity. We will write a custom essay sample on Symbolism in All Quiet on the Western Front or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Putting on the boots means they all have the same uniform and follow the same orders. They are trained to be like robots and their boots is what allows them to adapt to these expectations.Without them, they are nothing but young, innocent boys. Lastly, the boots are also a symbol for cheapness of human life. The army kept bringing in more and more soldiers as more and more soldiers kept dying. There seemed to be no end to the cycle. When one soldier died, his boots are given to another soldier, as if the first soldier never existed in the first place. There was more concern as to who was going to receive the boots than to the actual death of a friend. This shows how human life was taken for granted. The boots in All Quite on the Western Front symbolized loss of identity, cheapness of humanity and dehumanization. â€Å"I glance at my boots. They are big and clumsy, the breeches are tucked into them, and standing up one looks well-built and powerful in these great drainpipes. But when we go bathing and strip, suddenly we have slender legs again and slight shoulders. We are no longer soldiers but little more than boys. † (p. 29) This is just one quote that proves the boots are the central symbol of All Quiet on the Western Front. This quote shows how the soldiers were swept away by war, and putting on their boots changed them into totally different people. They went from nineteen year old innocent boys, to tough looking soldiers. Their boots allows them to fit into what was expected of them in the army. However when they were naked, it revealed their still slim shoulders and legs that made them still boys deep down. The army dehumanized them and wearing their boots was just another way they were turned into mindless drones.

2nd Research Paper 1st Half Word

2nd Research Paper 1st Half Word 2nd Research Paper 1st Half Word Nothing happens without the reason... The world nowadays has become so busy and selfish that even the human values, which were important in the 20th century, have changed dramatically and departed to the backburner in 21st century. This happens because parents don't have enough time for their children; they have new priorities in their lives, such as money, career, and business. That's why today children are placed under the responsibility of schools, kindergartens, and daycares instead of the responsibilities of their own parents. It is one of the reason why the diseases like obesity are so common in this days. Lack of taking care in general, and the lack of care, including diet particularly, lead to the diseases like obesity. To be obese means to be above one's normal weight. A person has traditionally been considered as obese if he or she has more than 20% over their ideal weight. According to Green, Hargrove, and Riley, in recent years the percentage of obesity in elementary sc hool students grew exponentially and reached epidemic proportion over the past three decades with rates tripling. We can't change the parents priorities in a short period of time, but instead we can change kids habits, which are related to eating processes, particularly in schools, because children are getting a lot of habits in schools. We all agree that childhood obesity needs to be stopped. I believe that by replacing the products from unhealthy with healthy items inside of vending machines, and by changing the hours of availability to these machines, we can come a little closer to resolving the problem of childhood obesity. The problem of obesity had become a serious problem for the U.S. by the late 1970s. Scott Barbour reported that in those years the overall percentage of obese children aged 6-11 years was only 6.5, as reported by National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES). That was the lowest rate of this disease which increased in recent years. Since that time the U.S. Department of Agriculture was more concentrated on reducing children's sugar intake than on the problem of obesity. That's why this particular organization didn't pay attention to the level of calories, saturated fat, and sodium content when they changed breakfast and lunch programs in the schools based on to the problems with the high sugar level in children. Later, in 1983 the problem of obesity manifested itself. In the 21st century, by the beginning of 2000s NHANES did the same analysis, and the results were worse. The prevalence of obesity increased from 6.5% to 17.0%. This studies in 2000s also showed that children who have a predisposition to obesity in 80% of cases will be overweight and obese at age 25 years. According to Green, Hargrove, and Riley, The Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported that more than 16 percent of children from 5 to 10 years of age are overweight or/and obese. Also, very interesting research, conducted by NHANES in 2010, found that the percentage depended on the race of kids. These results shocked everybody. The study found in children from 6 to 11 years old, 22 percent of Hispanic children, 14 percent of non-Hispanic, and 20 percent of African American children were overweight. By 2012, as Green, Hargrove, and Riley reported, more than 23 million U.S. children are either obese or overweight, and the medical costs that are associated with childhood obesity in 2008-2009 were around 71 billion dollars. It is clear that the problem of obesity and has increased over the last years from the problem of individual families to a national problem. The problem of obesity became so serious and dangerous problem for the whole nation, so everybody should at least try to think about some solutions. It was the first reason why I am concerned about this problem. The second reason is about the future. I'm 26 years old; I'm thinking about my future, and about the kids that I want to have. My grandmother told me the gold phrase

The Holy Ghost Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

The Holy Ghost - Essay Example In addition, once all the members were seated, they started clapping their hands and singing together. Besides, as the congregation is singing and worshipping, the pastor stands up and addresses the congregation; he invites all those who are not filled with the Holy-Ghost to come forward to receive an impartation. Eventually, the services move into a session of prayer; members of the congregation stand and make known their prayers and concerns. Additionally, the congregation breaks out into diverse kinds of prayer including lying on the floor, standing still, and convulsing uncontrollably. The documentary is a testament of what many individuals consider as the ministry of the Holy Spirit, a strange paradox. On the one hand, there are very little theological works on the ministry of the Holy Spirit; there is only a small reference to the issue in connection with the Trinity. On the other hand, over the last two decades, there has been an increasing interest and manifestation of the mi nistry and work of the Holy Spirit, especially in many non-denominational churches in America. The documentary is an example of the Pentecostal movement and subsequent series of the charismatic faiths that led many individuals to a new awareness of the ministry of the Holy Spirit and His spiritual gifts in the lives of Christians. The ministry of the Holy Spirit just as the documentary demonstrates revolves around the work of the Holy Ghost, especially in the lives of believers; the spiritual gifts such as faith healing.

Dutch poltical issues Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Dutch poltical issues - Essay Example Furthermore, he spoke against the European Union. During his speech in Hague, he was against the Moroccans who had settled into Netherlands. He incited the public against the Moroccans. The crowd was happy with what he was saying. He asked them anything that was racist, and the crowd replied positively with enthusiasm. It was similar to what the Nazi minister of propaganda was doing to the public. He incited the Germans into war. There was outrage among the Moroccans living in Netherlands. Mr. Wilder was a racist and did not take into consideration equality of races. It is against any government’s will to offer equality to all human beings. Every individual has the right to freedom in any county. People regarded the Moroccans as thieves and criminals. There was no sufficient evidence to say this statement. It showed biases according to biological and social attributes. Wilder was a racist in nature. He did not consider the will of the people he represented them in parliament. By saying the Moroccans should leave Netherlands, he tries to clarify his message of hatred towards the Muslims. Wilder openly shows the importance of Judeo, and he should follow its teaching which advocates for justice for all (Visser, 2013). Robbery is a very serious crime. If an innocent person is in the robbery scene, the activities in the scene may affect him. The robbers may cause bodily hard and pose the danger to life. In Noord-Brabant, there was a scene of a robbery, and a woman shot dead the two robbers. She acted on self-defense. This paper is going to show the reasons why the woman acted wrong in doing the shooting (Elkins, 2013). The paper disagrees with the idea of a woman acting on self-defense. Netherland’s constitution prohibits against use of guns. Possession of guns would make the civilians prone to attacks from any quarter. It would enhance robbery and many youths will engage in criminal activities. The constitution gave powers to the police. They have the

In conclusion, this movie it’s amazing and great. It inspired me a lot because it teach me that no matter what are you going thru or what you face in life there’s nothing impossible and giving up is not an option. It doesn’t matter how many times you fall, what it matters it’s how many times you stand up and keep moving forward. Life could give you so many challenges, but it’s up to you how you decided to face it and deal with it and besides that it’s the result that you are going to obtain. These word s of the movie â€Å"Don’t ever let somebody tell you†¦You can’t do something† â€Å"You got a dream†¦ you got to protect it.People can’t do something themselves, they want to tell you, you can’t do it.
